AI-Assisted AR System for Real-Time Support of Emergency Forces

KI-gestütztes AR-Assistenzsystem zur Echtzeitunterstützung von Einsatzkräften

Program FTI-Thüringen TECHNOLOGIE
Project ID 2025 FEE 0012
Beneficiary HEADBORNE.AI GmbH
Funding EFRE Thüringen 2021–2027

This project develops an AI-powered augmented reality assistance system for real-time decision support in complex, high-pressure operational environments. The system fuses computer vision, edge AI inference, and spatial computing to overlay actionable intelligence directly into the operator's field of view — with zero cloud dependency.

The research focuses on three core challenges: robust perception under adverse conditions, sub-10ms display latency on wearable hardware, and explainable AI outputs that warfighters can trust and act on.

This work directly informs the development of Headborne's AR operator helmet.
